When you talk about genius, consistency does not even come into the equation. Messi is a beautiful player, the best of his generation, but Maradona is transcendental magician, a god. Pele was the more complete player (incredibly athletic, fabulous header and scorer, can about do every single trick in the book) but Maradona was the more incisive passer and reader of the game as a midfielder.

No quarrel about FIFA awarding the FIFA Footballer of the Century jointly to Pele and Maradona.

To even mention Messi is to insult these two Gods of football.

George Best was probably the best British footballer (alongside Bobby Charlton), but please, on the world pantheon he ranks way behind legends from the European continent and South Ameerica. You've been watching too much EPL.
