Yen surge means Japanese goods less competitive
the cheap ¥ fuels toyota, nissan, subaru, mazda and honda sexports. auto cumpanies in jippun control the narrative in jp politics and generously fund their candidates’ campaigns. thus they prefer a weaker yen. however, other zaibatsu’s are losing their sexport competitiveness and prefer a stronger yen for import reasons as they renew focus on the domestic market. jp is also facing energy price inflation due to reliance on oil and gas as the fuckyushima disaster dealt a major blow to nuclear energy or any new plans using nuclear power. a stronger yen will curtail this enormous inflationary pressure and also curb sexcessive unwanted cheap tourism.
