Imagine the frustration that younger S'poreans carry around like an overcharged credit card kept in our wallet. I know where you are coming from. Since the supply of cars is strictly limited, the govt uses the bidding system i.e. price discovery, to let the market determine the price. Those who want a car the most - and have the means - pay the premium. Unfortunately, up to 90% of S'poreans do not possess the means to pay more than $100,000 for that piece of paper, but want or need that car really badly. Therein lies the unhappiness, and their anger is directed towards the govt and the 10% who can afford that overpriced COE.
