A woman in Taiwan has been taken to court after she allegedly touched a taxi driver inappropriately and suggested that they could sleep together.
Unable to stop the car, the driver dropped the woman off at her destination before calling the police, ETToday reported.
The Shilin District Prosecutors Office raised a lawsuit against the woman for forced indecency, and the court trial began on May 21.
What happened
On Nov. 29, 2025, after singing karaoke with her friends in New Taipei City, the woman, surnamed Huang, got a taxi to go to Taipei at around 5:20am.
Sitting directly behind the driver's seat, she asked the driver about his relationship status, and offered to sleep with him.
While he was driving, she reached her hand over and touched his lower body. He pushed her hand away in rejection, but Huang went further, reaching her hand into his pants, according to ETToday.
Being playful
During investigations, Huang admitted to touching the driver in a sexual way, but denied that she had any intention of sexually assaulting him.
Instead, she said that she was only being playful, and did not remember the driver pushing her hand away to reject her advances.
The investigators, however, believed that the driver's statement was consistently convincing.
They also got a testimony from a shop employee, who said the driver visited the shop after the incident and shared that a female passenger had touched him inappropriately.
Along with reviewing other evidence gathered from the case, the investigators believe Huang acted without the driver's consent.
Willing to settle
Both Huang and the taxi driver appeared in court for the trial on May 21.
According to ETToday, Huang dressed casually and looked calm. The driver was in a different room, and communicated with Huang through video link.
Both parties expressed that they were willing to reach a settlement. As the representative of the mediation committee had already left work by that time, the two sides will continue discussions on a later date.
