Threadstarter does have an interesting perception......Again, a disclaimer from the insignificant nobody me, as this may be a long post although I will try to be as brief as possible, to share insights... and none needs to read this, can either skip it or just put me on ignore list like many do...
1. Since Human civilization began, men and women were created DIFFERENTLY, proven by realities - men are developed with higher muscle mass than women, while women are the only ones capable of childbirth, amongst many MORE other differences.
As a result, men became the hunters and gatherers of crops, while women tend the home - bed, kitchen and kids.....as such, resulted in a MALE dominated World, even today....
2. However, with evolution and opportunities in democratic societies, whereby women were given EQUAL opportunities to show and prove their worth in societal, political and economic affairs, with success, such perceptions of male dominance had became a question mark.
3. With such evolution, NO female would want a dead beat husband in the journey of life, such as OKTs - in colloquial Hokkien lingo - Orh Kiew Tau - a male whom makes use of a woman or women to earn a living for himself, when such males are FULLY capable of earning a living in our still male dominated society to put food on the table for oneself, loved ones and kids.....
4. Although in a relationship or marriage, where no mortal or immortal promised a bed of roses daily in the journey of life, as some may stumble, retrenched or temporarily lost their directions and life, for both male and females, it WILL be encouragement and support from each other to uplift each life, at least for a time.
However, should a male or a female, in our modern society whereby due to equal opportunities in life, with dual income, should either one just simply gives up on gainful employment or wayang with pathetic resumes sent out over months, living in dreams, and ignoring the home's financial situation, leaving the other partner to do the daily hardwork and grind to put food on the table for oneself and loved ones, then, for sure, such a relationship will only eventually break up.....as none would want to be made used of by another in the journey of life, marriage, commitments, to one's kids and future mental and physical health.....
5. Singapore, being a Port city, is a land of opportunities. Where one door closes, another opens, in many other fields of works. Our Elected govt had IDENTIFIED Avenues whereby one can move to, and WE taxpayers had provided and shared our own hard earned funds thru daily hardwork and taxes in various forms, to fund further education and skills upgrading courses, to leave none behind.....
We will help those whom are willing to help themselves. Only together, with one singular goal thru our sacred National Pledge, will we survive and thrive, as our forefathers had done in far, far worse times, and given us our todays...
All the best, to each and partners in the journey of life TOGETHER in Singapore....
