Is it advisable to get a MHI aircon?

In that case Ah Jack clean clean here clean clean there does not apply to you because he is advertising Starmex, not the poorer cousin, MHI.

MHI reminds me of York - very robust ! But since changing to inverter, York has become very Midea.

WFH no aircon cannot lah. Noisy.

If your goal is lowest electricity bill in Singapore (System 3 / multi-split), don’t just look at brand—you must focus on (1) inverter type, (2) NEA 5-tick rating, (3) compressor efficiency.
Here’s the honest situation in Singapore now

Best energy-saving aircon brands (Singapore – 2026)

Based on current market + installer recommendations:

1. Daikin (Top overall for energy saving)

  • Very strong inverter efficiency
  • Stable performance in Singapore humidity
  • Many 5-tick NEA models
  • Lower long-term electricity bills
Widely considered “best overall” for System 3

2. Mitsubishi Electric (Starmex)

  • Also 5-tick efficiency
  • Very quiet (good for bedrooms)
  • Extremely reliable compressor
One of the most popular System 3 units in SG

3. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries

  • Slightly less common but:
  • Very durable + efficient
  • Good for heavy usage (long hours)

4. Panasonic / LG (secondary options)

  • Good inverter tech
  • Slightly less efficient vs Daikin/Mitsubishi (depends on model)
  • More “smart features” focus

Actual System 3 models (energy-saving picks)

⭐ Best overall (lowest running cost)

Why:
  • 5-tick NEA rating (max efficiency)
  • Uses R32 refrigerant (more efficient)
  • Proven long-term savings
    Typical price: ~$3.5k–$3.9k installed

Best quiet + efficient

Why:
  • 5-tick efficiency
  • Very low noise
  • Strong durability
    Also confirmed energy-saving design

Best for heavy usage (long hours daily)

Why:
  • Built for long run hours
  • Stable efficiency under load

⚠️ Important (many people get this wrong)
Even the “best brand” can waste electricity if:
  • Wrong BTU size (too big or too small)
  • Poor installation (very common issue in SG)
  • Old piping or gas leakage
Installation quality = 30–40% of your electricity cost

Bottom line (simple answer)

  • Best for lowest electricity bill: → Daikin
  • Best balance (quet + efficient): → Mitsubishi Starmex
  • Best long hours heavy use: → Mitsubishi Heavy

If you want, tell me:
  • your flat type (3-room / 4-room / condo)
  • room sizes
I can recommend the exact BTU sizing + model combo so you don’t overpay electricity every month.
