By the way, although I'm not pro-Islam (whether Shia or Sunni or any other "schools"or "branches"), I think it's wise/important to at least be aware of the Iranian mainstream news; so I've decided to read news articles from the following website at least once everyday until the end of the war:

www.presstv.ir
www.presstv.ir/Live
www.presstv.ir/Section/13013
wikipedia.org/wiki/Press_TV
www.presstv.ir/aboutus/WhatPressTVis

For example:
www.presstv.ir/Detail/2026/03/05/764993/irgc-khorramshahr-4-missiles-struck-Tel-Aviv-Ben-Gurion-and-Israeli-air-base-in-latest-wave

"The IRGC says at least 560 American troops have been killed in retaliatory operations"
Dear @glockman, many belated thanks again for liking the above post of mine!

A few days ago, I discovered the following interesting article, which is quite long, but I managed to finish reading it yesterday; and because I think you will probably agree with it and even feel quite happy/consoled while reading it, I feel the need to recommend it to you:
www.presstv.ir/Detail/2026/03/07/765076/blinded-giant-how-iran-crippled-multi-billion-dollar-thaad-network-in-days

If the story in the above article is true, then this would imply that the USA and Israel are really losing the war, right?
Simply because defence is obviously VERY important/necessary in any war/battle and also games (such as chess or football or basketball), right?

Iran definitely was able to knock out US missile batteries and bases located in gulf countries, as well as Israeli systems and ports. So much for the iron dome and patriot systems! Two weeks into the war, US and Israel still cannot claim victory, i.e., regime change in Iran. Anyway, below is a video clip by Tucker Carlson on the topic of missiles and nuclear weapons.

It's about time for both the US and Israel to bomb and flatten Iran's oil lifeline: the Kharg Island.

I don't know why they don't do it yet? It'll definitely shorten this war by more than 2 weeks at least.
If the Kharg Island refinery is bombed, Iran will retaliate by bombing the Gulf States' refineries.

During the past two days, I began to have a feeling that, after the war eventually ends, a new de facto "Persian/Iranian Empire" will be "born" and it will have a territory that is even bigger than the territory of the ancient Persian:

or even the territory of the much older Persian:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Achaemenid_Empire

because this new de facto "Persian/Iranian Empire" will include the entire:

The ancient Persians had been a great Empire in the past, but is no longer, as OTHER Empires grew and evolved into the Civilizations of todays, with choices for Humankind to decide their own fate - Communism, dictatorships, theocracy or Democracy with its democratic institutions which had proven to last for 200 + years.

After being ruled by the brutal and savage theocratic Iranian regime whom had even twisted Islam- a religion of peace - for their own hold to power. the Persians have no thirst to be ruled by dictatorships and would want only peace and stability, to progress and prosper, with the rest of Humankind.....after the chaos and insecurities settles down, which is only normal in a war torn country where opportunists in every form abounds....

Ultimately, it will be the Democratic systems, when observed and adhered to honestly, will win hearts and minds, than power from bullets which had been proven long term failures..

You may not be off regarding the resurgence of the Persian/Iranian empire. The west is weakened now and will lose its influence in the years ahead, and they are the very ones limiting Iran via UN sanctions. The only great power left which is China is a friend of Iran, and we won't see them opposing the rise of Iran if that ever happens.

I wonder whether:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Ong_Keng_Yong
who is the Sinkie "Non-Resident Ambassador to Iran" (since late 2008):
mfa.gov.sg/i-need-help-overseas/find-an-overseas-mission/iran
mfa.gov.sg/newsroom/press-statements-transcripts-and-photos/mfa-press-statement-appointment-of-singapores-nonresident-ambassador-to-the-islamic-republic-of-iran-29-oct-2008
agrees with us...

The only great power left which is China is a friend of Iran, and we won't see them opposing the rise of Iran if that ever happens.
Yes, in terms of:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Purchasing_power_parity
the GDP of the PRC already surpassed the GDP of the USA some years ago (maybe even nearly ten years ago, if I remember correctly) and also seems to be roughly/at least 30% bigger than the USA's GDP nowadays:
wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)

But I strongly suspect that the true kingpin/linchpin/mastermind/cornerstone of both the PRC and Iran is Russia, mainly because of Russia's:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_technology
wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Armed_Forces
wikipedia.org/wiki/Arms_industry_of_Russia
especially their:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypersonic_weapons
such as:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Oreshnik_(missile)
wikipedia.org/wiki/Kh-47M2_Kinzhal
and, of course, also because of their:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Petroleum_industry_in_Russia
which the PRC depends a lot on; to be more precise, according to:
energypolicy.columbia.edu/publications/chinas-oil-demand-imports-and-supply-security
"In 2024, China imported 11.1 million barrels per day of crude oil, accounting for 74 percent of the country’s apparent oil consumption"; and according to:
visualcapitalist.com/mapped-where-china-gets-its-oil
"20%" of the PRC's imported oil comes from Russia; therefore, nearly 15% of the PRC's oil consumption depends on Russia and that number is likely to go up from now on, right?

But in terms of culture, manners and character of at least the mainstream population of a country (i.e. people who have average intelligence levels, average heights, average physical fitness levels and, of course, average faces), my favourite country is still my beloved:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan
because of the "Japanese spirit":
ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/大和魂
wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamato-damashii
of most (or at least 69% of) Japanese people!
bow-gif.40441
:inlove:

Of course, just like any other country, some Japanese people are bad; but I believe that bad ethnic Chinese people (i.e. not just Mainland Chinese people) are even worse!

For example, and to be more precise, if I were to compare a random sample of 100,000 PRC citizens living in:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanghai
with a random sample of 100,000 Japanese citizens living in:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo
I believe that:

1. at least 69,000 of those 100,000 Japanese citizens have better manners and character than 100% of those 100,000 PRC citizens;

2. at most 24,100 of those 100,000 Japanese citizens have worse manners and character than only 6,900 of those 100,000 PRC citizens, but better manners and character than 93,100 of those 100,000 PRC citizens;

3. at most 6,900 of those 100,000 Japanese citizens have worse manners and character than 69,000 of those 100,000 PRC citizens, but better manners and character than 31,000 of those 100,000 PRC citizens.

I also strongly believe that the main/fundamental reason for the significantly different cultures (mainly in terms of manners and character) in both countries is the:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_Buddhist_Persecutions_in_China
that were carried out by the ruling classes in China over a thousand years ago; whereas the ruling classes in Japan (including most, or even all, of the Emperors, aristocrats and high-ranking military generals), since also over a thousand years ago, decided to gradually convert to:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhism_in_Japan
and ended up practising both Buddhism and their native:
ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/神道
wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinto
ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/神仏習合
wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinbutsu-shugo
otherwise, Japanese culture would probably still be just as bad as Chinese culture!

And, of course, the ruling classes would naturally influence the classes below them; but as for why the ruling classes in both countries made such a different choice in the past, I'm afraid I don't know...

Unfortunately, Japan's population has been declining significantly during the past two decades:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Japan#Statistics_since_1873

and will likely become smaller than the population of the Philippines:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_the_Philippines#Registered_births_and_deaths
and even the population of Vietnam:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Vietnam#Registered_births_and_deaths
roughly 10 (or at most 15) years from now, which is quite amazing because in 1950 (roughly 5 years after the Second World War ended in 1945), Japan's population was "83,199,637", whereas Vietnam's population was only roughly "28 000 000" and the population of the Philippines was "19,881,000"! :o-o:

This would also cause Japan's rank in the:
wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_and_dependencies_by_population
to fall from "11" now to "16", just above Iran and Turkey...

By the way, did you know that the current President of Russia:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Vladimir_Putin
has "eighth dans" in both Judo:
eju.net/8th-dan-attributed-to-vladimir-putin
reuters.com/article/us-judo-russia-putin-idUSBRE8991F120121010
and Karate:
edition.cnn.com/2014/11/21/world/europe/putin-karate-black-belt/index.html
and has been practising Judo since he was 11 years old:
en.putin.kremlin.ru/interests
but seems to have never practised:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Wushu_(sport)
or any other:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_martial_arts
wikipedia.org/wiki/Kung_fu_(term)
such as:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Tai_chi
wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_Chun
wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaolin_kung_fu
even though Russia is supposedly an "ally" of the PRC and not an ally of Japan?
This is one of the main reasons for my belief that Putin (and, of course, the Russian government and military) is a secret ally of the Japanese government and military in their attempts to control the PRC, in order to prevent the PRC from becoming too powerful and bullying them; simply because, if the PRC really becomes too powerful, it would likely not only attack/invade and conquer/enslave Taiwan, but would also attack/invade and conquer/enslave Japan, the entire Korean peninsula, Southeast Asia, Australia and even Russia's:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Far_Eastern_Federal_District
wikipedia.org/wiki/Siberian_Federal_District
wikipedia.org/wiki/Ural_Federal_District
which have a combined population of only roughly 37 million people (similar to the combined population of Beijing and Tianjin), but a land area of roughly 13 million square kilometres (much bigger than the PRC's entire land area), which includes Russia's oil-rich:
wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Siberian_Economic_Region
wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Siberian_petroleum_basin

Basically, I believe the new "superpower" of the world is already the Russia-Iran-Japan alliance, which has already been controlling the PRC since, let's say, 1997 (when the British gave the whole of Hong Kong to the PRC, even though the 19th-century Qing government "ceded" Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula to the British "in perpetuity"), in order to prevent the PRC from becoming too powerful, simply because the ruling classes of Russia, Iran and Japan would be very foolish to totally trust the CCP or any other ethnic Chinese ruling class of the PRC that might overthrow the CCP in the future, right?

And I also believe/suspect that it is this Russia-Iran-Japan alliance that has successfully pressured/forced/trained the PRC to not only produce (and, of course, export) higher-quality products that are still significantly cheaper than American and European and Japanese products during the past decade (i.e. after Xi Jinping became the President of the PRC in 2013), but also to be predictable enough and reliable enough for at least the next few decades, simply because the CCP and most PRC citizens have become addicted to their higher quality of life and, therefore, have more to lose nowadays, right?

Furthermore, unlike most Iranians (including the ruling class of Iran), who are not afraid of their capital city:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Tehran
being bombed many times, I think it should be safe to say that most PRC citizens (including most CCP members) are much more afraid of:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Beijing
being bombed even once, mainly because ethnic Chinese people tend to fear death (or "kiasee") much more than Iranian people, Russian people and, of course, Japanese people fear death, right?
This is also why I believe the chance/risk of the PRC ever attacking/invading Taiwan is practically zero or less than 0.069%!

As for other countries that might still be "great" powers, I can only think of:
1. the USA (because it still seems to control the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand),
2. India (because in terms of PPP, its GDP is already number three in the world),
3. and maybe the EU (mainly because of Germany, but I think there's a good chance that the EU will become smaller in the future)...

Okay, I think I've become too long-winded, so I'll stop now!

SINGAPORE: Requiring employers to notify authorities before they retrench workers may discourage talks to save jobs, Manpower Minister Tan See Leng said on Tuesday (Mar 3).

He was responding to calls by labour chief Ng Chee Meng and other members of parliament (MPs) from the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) to implement advance mandatory retrenchment notifications.
Does it mean Iran war can help to create jobs?

Israel and the U.S. may fight for an extended period, but Iran is prepared to match their endurance. While Iran may not win the war, the U.S. and Israel will ultimately face significant losses.

being bombed many times, I think it should be safe to say that most PRC citizens (including most CCP members) are much more afraid of:
wikipedia.org/wiki/Beijing
being bombed even once, mainly because ethnic Chinese people tend to fear death (or "kiasee") much more than Iranian people, Russian people and, of course, Japanese people fear death, right?
This is also why I believe the chance/risk of the PRC ever attacking/invading Taiwan is practically zero or less than 0.069%!

As for other countries that might still be "great" powers, I can only think of:
1. the USA (because it still seems to control the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand),
2. India (because in terms of PPP, its GDP is already number three in the world),
3. and maybe the EU (mainly because of Germany, but I think there's a good chance that the EU will become smaller in the future)...

Okay, I think I've become too long-winded, so I'll stop now!

Thanks for the detailed write-up, which I find to be informative.

We are all entitled to our views. This diversity of views make life more interesting! Your Russia-Iran-Japan alliance controlling china is a new angle! I don't think it is so though, because as far as I have seen and read (and understood), China is not playing second fiddle to anyone anymore. The US included. They kind of know who they are and where they stand in the global pecking order.

I agree that the japs are generally well behaved, have good civic mindedness. We all need to learn from them.

One of my relatives married a Jap. They are proud of being Jap and are always quick to differentiate themselves from the Koreans, whom they generally see as being "less refined". Also, they're not really fond of China (and vice-versa as we know). Historically they fought the sino-jap war and also in recent decades the rise of china in manufacturing, economically and militarily has left Japan in the dust. I told him it is unfortunate that Japan is a US stooge (together with S.Korea and Taiwan), seeing that the US has become an insufferable global bully, especially in recent times under dictator trump and his henchmen. All these countries need to ween themselves off their US dependency. Stop drinking the US kool-aid that seek to poison them into seeing china as the enemy just because it's a communist country. In actual fact, the US is so fearful it is losing (or has already lost?) its position as the global hegemon to china and hence is doing its best to maintain its position.

We need to take pride in being Asians, tell the white man to piss off, stop interfering with Asia, and welcome the decline of the west.

I feel that communism is not a threat to anyone these days. Times have changed. It's autocracy and religious fanaticism that present the most threat. The west has plundered the world (especially the middle east, africa, asia) through the decades and even centuries, it seems only Asia is able to fend them off thanks to China.:biggrin:

i don't care about the war...I have nothing against Iranians or Israelis or Arabs or Americans or Jews or Muslims.

I just pray for the property / condo and debt market to crash and burn....burn all the PAP, PAP voters, and CECA.
Wow. I admire your bravery

Israel and the U.S. may fight for an extended period, but Iran is prepared to match their endurance. While Iran may not win the war, the U.S. and Israel will ultimately face significant losses.
When Beekok cannot achieved a all out cake walk victory, it is very damaging to its reputation as world only superpower
