The Workers’ Party (WP) has launched a disciplinary review into its secretary-general, Pritam Singh, following his High Court convictionfor lying to a parliamentary committee, as questions mount over opposition leadership in Parliament. Pritam was removed as Leader of the Opposition by Prime Minister Lawrence Wongafter Parliament agreed he was unsuitable to continue in the role. The disciplinary panel will determine whether Pritam breached the party’s constitution and is expected to conclude its inquiry within three months.

The disciplinary panel is chaired by MPs Jamus Lim and He Ting Ru, with former Hougang MP Png Eng Huat also appointed to the review. Png’s inclusion is notable as he is not a current member of the party’s Central Executive Committee, marking a departure from past practice. After the inquiry concludes, the WP plans to convene a special conference within two weeks to consider the findings, with decisions on Singh’s future and broader leadership issues, including questions surrounding senior figures Sylvia Lim and Faisal Manap, deferred until then. The US Embassy in Singapore said requesting financial contributions from businesses is standard practice for official events, including Independence Day celebrations marking the US Semiquincentennial. The clarification came after online attention focused on an email sent to companies seeking support for the embassy’s Fourth of July reception. The embassy said such contributions are voluntary and commonly used by diplomatic missions to help offset event-related costs.

When PAP targetted you, it means you are a real talented person and a threat to those in power. That's why sinkies were made poor in order to be dominated, controlled and manipulated left right, center thru years of erosion, of Sinkie core, in every sector of the society.
