Zheng Haichuan, a well-known local funeral businessman, said in an interview with 8 Vision News Network that Zhang Qiujie's parents are farmers and their family is not rich. The police contacted their parents through the embassy. They arrived in Singapore on December 29 and asked Zheng Haichuan for help.
"They hope I can help them. They also said that their daughter was kind-hearted and donated during the Wenchuan earthquake. I feel very pitiful when I hear them say this. My daughter is also a kind person, so I help them deal with their daughter's aftermath for free.
According to Zheng Haichuan, Zhang Qiujie has not contacted her parents for about one to two years. They are also very shocked by the death of their daughter and have many questions in their hearts.
"They don't know how long their daughter has been in Singapore and why she passed away. Dad said that his daughter could not be reborn like this. There must be friends who know her in Singapore. Because their daughter's mobile phone has a password, they can't open it. They hope to find someone through the news and so on. If anyone knows Zhang Qiujie, you can contact me, and I will use WeChat to tell his parents.
In response to the inquiry, the Singapore Civil Defense Force said that at about 3 p.m. on December 20, 2025, one person was declared dead on the spot after receiving a call for help from No. 1 Bayfront Avenue. No. 1 Bayview Road is also the address of Marina Bay Sands Hotel.
The police force pointed out that the preliminary investigation showed that the case did not involve the murder, and the investigation was still in progress.
Zheng Haichuan said that Zhang Qiujie also had two younger brothers and sisters in their teens and 20s. Because the incident happened suddenly and there was no extra money at home, they did not come to Singapore with their parents to deal with their sister's affairs.
In addition, due to the family situation, the parents did not bring Zhang Qiujie's ashes back to China, but led it to Zheng Haichuan to help settle down.
"At present, I plan to bury her in Wanli. If you want to do it, do it to the end and give it to her. In the future, her brothers and sisters can also visit her sister when they have a chance to come to Singapore."
Zhang Qiujie's body was cremated on Thursday (1st), and her parents returned to China the next day.
