In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that they were alerted to a fire at Block 733 Tampines Street 71 at about 2:20am on Jan. 2, 2026.

The fire involved items along the fifth floor common corridor of the affected block.

SCDF extinguished the fire using a water jet.

There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

It's not a lot of money. The conservancy charges we pay are more than enough to pay for the installation.

I would go further to convert an area at the void deck to security office, and employ NUS graduates to work there. It will be a job reserved for Singapore born citizens only.​

DBSS HDB flats have gates at void decks. Then how they justify the difference between HDB DBSS and normal HDB?
