65% of teachers voted to be screwed upside down
Most of the teachers here cannot teach well but getting lucrative salary, still complain stress and too much workload.
If the teachers are good, tuition business would not be booming, and the teachers rather be tutors, earning more money.

Class sizes are too large to give enough attention to the students. That is why parents who are able to afford it, receive the best quality tuition.

In Western countries, the 2 big ticket items are far cheaper than in S'pore. Eating out is expensive and these countries don't have cheaper options like hawker centres.

i just plain fucking hate Sinkie teechers. haha, over beers, it is fun to tok cock about our teechers back in the day. throwing feather dusters, chalk, verbal insults etc. But in essence it is trauma. the teechers’ angst acted upon students from their screwing over by MOE. KNNBCCB!!

In 60s, 70s and 80s, each class size was more than 40 students. We still produced Engineers, Lawyers, Doctors, Ministers, Judges....etc. the teachers were lowly paid bur doing great job..
The present teachers are overpaid and enjoying too much benefits, even most of them can't teach well.

You can't blame the teachers..true some are not up to standard but not all.

Teachers are given too many task to deal with beside teaching, how to focus on teaching well if like that.

It is the education minister and those who set up the teaching protocol that needed changes..totally no improvement all these years.

It’s getting more common to see news on Teachers these days having underaged sex with young students.

Let’s bring back corporal punishment, knock the knuckles with a steel ruler when the kids misbehave. Bring back public caning too.

Teachers are just a product of the system...what is wrong with the system is not enough development and recognition is given to the top 11% to 20% students. We all know the top 10% will go to "good" schools to become professionals and whats not, therefore there should be another set of system and psrsonnel to nurture and develop them in secondary school..instead there is the G1 G2 G3 banding in sec school now that helps nobody, and the horror stories u hear

Keep the old system and old PSLE grading system, the brightest students should be discovered from.the system and being groomed to be our future leaders.
The parents of those underperformed students suggested to scrap the PSLE is to kill our genuine future leaders, stress is an invalid excuse, who has no stress living in Singapore?

Like I mentioned, the top 10% will have their suitors from the ministries to the MNCs and some will become professionals like Drs and lawyers..the 11% to 20% are usually left to their own devices and there lies the brain drain issue...also schools are usually given the autonomy to deliver the syllabus and most of the time the principals, are either over zealous and will throw out mountains of homework or the can't be bothered type who focus on non academics...and than there is of course the issue of class sizes
