Chinese solid-state battery developer WeLion New Energy has reported a laboratory breakthrough that could reshape the future of electric vehicles.
The company says it has achieved an energy density of 824 watt-hours per kilogram in solid-state battery tests, far beyond today’s EV battery benchmarks.
While the technology is not market-ready, the result positions WeLion at the front of the global solid-state EV battery race.
