Does anyone have any horror stories to share about property agents? Was looking to buy a unit on the 14th floor of Hundred Palms residences. Listing was originally at 2.15M, and we managed to negotiate it down to 2.1M with 3 months extension. The seller's property agent accepted the offer.

After accepting the offer, the seller's property agent then revealed herself to be the owner of the unit. In addition, although we previously agreed on a 3 month extension, she asked for an additional 4 months extension (so total 7 months), while only offering us 10K rent for the 4 months. Reason being her kids need to take PSLE next year. FYI, the market rate for rent is currently 4-4.5K per month.

Of course we rescinded the offer and walked off. Does anyone have any other stories about these slimy property agents? If anyone needs a link to the property guru listing (it's currently listed for 2.2M), let me know. Happy to share.

I worked for both property and insurance agents before as an admin. No need further discussion with them. They're on par with scam callers. Always demand upfront info of the property on first meeting. They're known to squeeze both their clients and staff dry as a salted fish (esp if they're a woman). You're lucky that you wasted only your brief time.

Last time before I becum a wise men, I engaged property agents. Now I don't becos they are not needed and worst still, they will make your selling or purchasing becum more troubles.

Previous one experience with scums property agents.

I engaged a buying agent who leepresented me for buying and selling.

The selling part, at first I find not much trouble as the agent was quite OK hardworking and leesponsible.

But when he brought me to view a unit as a buying agent, the problem came.

The seller's agent wanted to cheat the seller, at the same actually tried to cheat me. Although at the end of the day I will get some benefits out of it.

This is How this scam will work if I were to accept their dirty tactic.

The seller's agent tried to physcho the seller into selling it at $x whereby x is lower than what I had offered to the seller.
But same time I had to pay the agent a side $y. Even $x + $y =$z is still lower than my overall budget, and also a lower amount than what I was willing to pay the seller, I told them, do you want me to leeport this arrangement to polis?

Both my agent and the seller agent ball shrinked and disappeared into thin air.
