Tada placed his account on hold.
A Singapore woman shared her experience with a particular Tada driver who seemed to get agitated when he tried to end her ride before she reached her destination.
Sharing
her account on TikTok, Lydia described it as her "worst Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) experience ever".
Shortcut
Lydia recounted that the driver had asked her if there was a shortcut to her destination.
Although she informed the driver that she was not sure, he decided to turn into a car park.
Lydia knew the car park led to an enclave of landed properties and informed him about it, but the driver allegedly said, "let's just try".
The driver then drove towards a dead-end twice.
At the second dead-end, the driver told her that they had arrived at the destination.
Lydia noticed that the driver had stopped in front of some landed properties, and according to the GPS, her destination was farther away than where he had stopped.
"So, unless I can walk through people's landed houses, or [the] uncle can barge through other people's houses, I don't think I'll be able to get where I'm supposed to be," she said.
Lydia added that she also checked her map application and realised it was a 20-minute walk, so she informed the driver that it was not the correct location.
The driver then continuously asked her where she would like him to take her, and she told him to drive her to her destination, offering alternatives in case his GPS was not working.
However, in the following clip, Lydia caught the driver demanding her, "Then you want me to drive you around? Who the hell are you?"
Lydia added that the driver was getting more aggressive when he allegedly asked: "Who do you think you are? Why do you want me to drive you around?"
In one clip, the driver snapped, "[You] only pay me a few dollars... You treat me like what, your chauffeur?"
He went on to accuse Lydia of entering the wrong address, but she checked her app to prove she had not mistakenly entered the wrong address.
He was also allegedly heard saying: "Do you want me to endanger your life?"
Towards the end of the ride, the driver missed the turn, so Lydia told him to drop her off by the side of the road.
The driver accused her of lying to him, and Lydia insisted that he check his account as they exited the car.
She added that the driver had told her to "go to hell".
Reported
While she did not reveal the platform she used in her video, Lydia mentioned in the comments that the driver was working under Tada.
She said that she reported the incident to Tada, but all she received were what she felt were "template emails".
She ended the video by vowing never to use Tada again.
One comment advised Lydia to tag the company to expedite the investigation and possibly offer compensation. Still, she shared that Tada did not provide a refund, nor did she need compensation.
Tada responded in the comment section, sharing that the driver's account has been placed on hold.
