For months, Indonesian movie audiences have been talking about one film: Norma, the story of a seemingly blissful marriage shattered by the husband's clandestine affair with his mother-in-law.

It's the kind of plot that was always going to attract melodrama fans. But what has made Norma a nationwide obsession is the fact that it's based on a viral true story.

In 2022, Norma Risma, a woman in Serang City on Indonesia's Java island, exposed her husband and mother's affair in a TikTok video.

LKY lied about serving S'pore for an altruistic reason since he introduced money politics into the PAP. From 1955 to 1973, the PM's salary was $3,500 per month. A significant salary revision in 1973 increased the PM's pay rise to $9,500 monthly, and other ministers' salaries from $4,500 to $7,000. In 2016 values, these amounts were equivalent to approximately $27,742 (annual $360,646, including 13th month) and $20,441 (annual $265,733, including 13th month) respectively. Then PM LKY justified the increases by emphasising the need to attract qualified individuals to govt service.
 
All I can say is that both the wife and him has been through the mother’s hole….
 
He did it right to his grave by abolishing the Estate Duty before wifey and he kick the bucket. Brilliant move, we'll never know how much land and properties under their names.

I am sure that all the PAP ministers supported the abolishment of estate duty. They wouldn't want all the proceeds from the sale of their GCBs being distributed to the hoi polloi living in the HDB heartlands.

You are able to read English, but not understand it. The S'pore govt abolished estate duty for all deaths occurring on or after 15 Feb 2008.
