The woman subsequently accused the man of raping her while she was drunk.
The accused, 37-year-old Jasper Lee Loong Kuan, denied the allegation, claiming they had consensual sex, or at least thought the woman had consented.
He pleaded not guilty to one count of rape and claimed trial in the High Court on Sep. 18, reported Shin Min Daily News.
The woman, her age and company cannot be identified due to a gag order.
Met through work matters
Lee was the managing director of his company at the time of the incident, and the woman was a customer service representative at another company.
He was one of the customers the woman was liaising with regarding export shipments.
The woman knew Lee as she was working as a customer service officer for the company in 2008, left, and rejoined in 2020.

As Lee was still a client, the woman had remained in contact with him from on and off.
While keeping in contact for work, the two found out that they shared the same birthday and met for the first time on Sep. 15, 2021 to celebrate.
Shared same birthday
The pair met at a restaurant in VivoCity at 5:30pm on Sep. 15, 2021.
Lee was already drinking a beer in the restaurant when the victim arrived.
After getting food and sharing two bottles of red wine together, the woman felt intoxicated and told Lee she wanted to go home at around 8:30pm.
He offered to drive her home, which took about 35 minutes from VivoCity.
Lee later parked his car, helped the woman to the lift, and followed her back to her unit.

CCTV and police camera footage showed that the woman had to be supported by Lee at about 9:23pm.
Allegedly raped victim who passed out
As soon as the woman got home, she went to the bathroom and vomited, while Li patted her back.
According to the victim, she returned to her room to lay on the bed.
She was reportedly drowsy and drifting in and out of consciousness.
She woke up at one point to find herself naked and Lee allegedly raping her.
However, she was too drunk to push him away and eventually fell back asleep.
According to the prosecution, Lee later left the woman's home at 9:50pm, just one minute after the woman called 999 to report the incident.

The woman also sent a text message to Lee at 9:54pm, telling him, "You are too much."
Prosecution to call 31 witnesses
The court heard that the prosecution will refer to the redacted body camera footage of the police officer who attended to the case, as the woman was seen undressed and curled up behind the door.
The police arrived at her home at about 10:05pm.
The woman told police she had been raped.
She later went to KK Women's and Children's Hospital, and her blood sample was found to contain 82mg of ethanol per 100ml.
The prosecution plans to call 31 witnesses to testify that the woman lacked capacity to give consent and did not give consent, even if she was able to.

In addition, the prosecution will rely on the audio of the woman vomiting and slurring her words on the way home, which were recorded on Lee's dashcam in his car.
A forensic pathologist testified on Sep. 18 to give evidence regarding the woman's likely blood alcohol level when she arrived at her block, and the symptoms she exhibited.
The case resume at a later date.
