A resident is enraged by the noise that pickleball players at Block 119A Plantation Crescent have been creating.

Sharing photos and videos of the players in action, Stomper Anon said: "Another day, another pickleball noise in HDB estates.

"These pickleball players don't have common sense. Of the whole Tengah, they chose this particular badminton court as it's bigger than others in the estate.

"This court is in between two blocks, so noise will echo. The sound can still be heard even after closing our windows. Furthermore, we can't always just close our windows every time they start playing."

Anon explained that this is because the pickleball group is active "almost every day" and can play for hours.

"They are active players and rotate among themselves. They conduct competitions and lessons," he lamented. "Every time they start their game, it can last up to five hours. Mind you, five hours of constant noise.

Anon said action taken by the town council has not improved the situation: "They used to play from 7.30am to 11.30am or 5pm to 10pm, but two weeks ago, the town council started to put up notices to restrict the time.

"But even after the town council limited their playtime from 8.30am to 9.30pm, they feel that it's an entitlement for them to generate noise. They ignore the notice and start to play as early as 7.30am or 8am.

"Someone from the town council came down to talk to the group leader and asked them to minimise the sound, but the noises keep going on.

"They gather in huge groups, especially on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. They even set up a makeshift mine court and play at the void deck. They can have three games going on at the same time."

Anon appealed for help to "spread the awareness that residents around the court are not happy with the noise they have created".

He also said there were no such pickleball groups when he moved into the estate one year ago.

"This group used to play in the Plantation Acres estate at Block 112 Plantation Crescent. It's unknown why they moved here about three to four months ago.

"I am hoping for them to move their game to other places as there are a few courts in Tengah estate."

Chua Chu Kang Town Council thanked the Stomper for his feedback and said, in response to a query, that the court at Block 119A Plantation Crescent is an "open, multi-purpose facility that caters to the diverse needs and uses of all residents".

A spokeswoman told Stomp on Sept 11: "However, residents are advised to keep their usage and play between 8.30am to 9.30pm. To facilitate the end of all activities, the lights at the court are switched off at 9.30pm daily.

"In addition, the town council has put up several advisories at different spots of the court to remind users to be considerate in their usage by refraining from producing excessive noise, keeping their activities within the recommended hours (as stated above) and observing the quiet and rest period between 10.30pm and 7am.

"While we understand that pickleball is becoming an increasingly popular sport, we are aware of the need to balance the desire for healthy lifestyles and the need for rest and quiet of residents living nearby."

The town council will continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust the lighted hours where necessary.

"We seek everyone's cooperation and consideration in the use of the court, to ensure a harmonious and pleasant living environment for all," the spokeswoman added.

The person who invented this stupid activity needs to be shot. It's a dumbfuck game meant for kids who are too young for tennis. As for the adults playing this game, they should be ashamed.

Keep hearing the piak piak sound

When Chinese and Malay are being pushed from their kampong to the housing estate.
We have badminton courts, basketball courts and playground.
The Malays play their speak takraw with the badminton courts.

I think the place is getting more squeeze. Last time the HDB is around 12 to 13 floors and 25 storeys the max. Now we have 30 floors

PLace change and so do people.

Sinkies have no brain. Just because pickleball has been in the news lately, suddenly every sinkie wants to play.

Truly sheep people
Most Singaporeans have 0 IQ and can be manipulated by the mainstream media easily. From getting hello kitty, labubu dolls, believing foreigners create job opportunities, queuing for iphone, queuing for kowtow to LKY, to vote for pap and to take covid vaccine. Which one they don’t follow like a sheeple?

Pickleball is gaining in popularity: indoors and outdoors, old farts and young punks, they are all playing pickleball.

Pickleball is what happens when tennis and badminton have sex and produce a child.

It is not really strenuous to play. So women like it. And attract men like bees to honey.
