'Thousands' of Singaporeans shopping in JB driving up food, rental prices: Johor chief minister

What we need is a bridge to Sumatra so sinkie have another outlet to shop and travel
It is an undeniably fact that JB indeed helps sinkies lower the cost of living, grocery is much cheaper in JB than Sindiapore.

It helps to have a car since the more a typical SG family buys in JB, the more they will save. However, the 8% of SG car owners aren't the ones in need.

They talk so much for what? Just ban Singaporeans from going into JB for non-work matters la. Force them to apply Visa before going into JB la. See how fast JB collapse.

Suck our monies but still complain. If ever there’s a bunch of more ungrateful scumbags, they have to be the champions.

I do in fact despise Sinkies who keep going into JB though. Save money there but kena criticize like fuck, but still thick skin wanna go. Haha

From our perspective, JB is a place for cost-effective shopping, dining and entertainment because of the favorable exchange rate. This is viewed as a way to save money and enjoy a different lifestyle that is more difficult to afford in SG. The travel isn't just for essentials as JB is a popular leisure destination, with many S'poreans making day trips for things like massages, car services or to eat.

From the the Johorean perspective, this influx of S'porean visitors has a negative impact. The increased demand and spending power of S'poreans contribute to a rising cost of living in JB, especially for groceries, food and property prices. This creates resentment, as locals feel they are being priced out of their own city which sounds like how we feel with the SG population growing past 6 million.

The easiest way is to impose foreigner consumption taxes to make things more expensive for Singaporeans. So there’s 2 types of pricing - cheaper price for JB cunts; higher but still good price for Sinkie yao guis.

S'poreans with "short arms and deep pockets" will start going to Batam and Bintang instead of JB.

They have forgotten the Novid-19 pandemic when no sinkies can travel to jiuhu for visiting and the food causing tsunami of shopping center and stores closure and now talking baktuwei that they drove up food, rental prices, sinkies ready no backbone to stand can took these criticism

Johoreans have short term memory. If the SG govt introduces a "full tank and full stomach rule" on all S'poreans travelling across the Causeway, then businesses in JB will cry.

Other than food or marriage there should be no reason why sinkies go to JB as not everything in jiuhu is cheaper than sinkieland though the price difference is very small

Regular visitors to cities like Melaka, KL, Ipoh and Penang will testify that prices have shot up in JB because of the sheer volume of visitors from S'pore.

the locals know we depend on johor for cheap getaways and spendings.

Some really don't like us because we are cocky towards them, so cars that frequently enter malaysia ends up with scratches.

S'poreans realise that Malaysians depend on SG for jobs that will give their loved ones a better future.
Most of us don't really like them because they compete for white collar work, but they have the same motivation as us - to secure their family's financial future.

I don't know why Singapore could agree to the RTS. This is indeed a big disadvantage and will cripple the Singapore economy as it only benefits Malaysia the most. Bloody stupid PAPies. Now they talk about allowing cross-border transportation by ride hailing apps. If approved, this will be another big disaster for Singapore retailers. KNN, the PAPies are shooting themselves in their own feet.

Anwar is a double-crosser. During our recent NDP, he only sent his deputy. On the hand, the forthcoming China's parade on 03 September 2025, he will personally go to attend.

Does Sg need JB or JB needs Sg more?

If we don’t go there, the locals got spend enough to keep those businesses afloat?
