Chitchat UK Smokers urged to swap cigarettes for vapes in world first scheme. But PAP wants you to go back smoking.

...

With a population count of 69million citizens today, including migrants from the middle east, they can afford to make mistakes like Thailand over the Cannabis affair.

It is their country, but we Singapore are of only 5million and NONE are expandable, as each citizen is precious and means something special to another, more so our young.

WE WILL NOT LET THEM BECOME ZOMBIES....
Vaping turn humans into zombies? I know two people who quit smoking by vaping. Then quit vaping too.

Vaping turn humans into zombies? I know two people who quit smoking by vaping. Then quit vaping too.

Ultimately, Humankind have to rely on the evidences and rigors of Science.

At the least, you had admitted that the two you knew quit smoking and vaping.

Nicotine does not turn Humans into Zombies.

Only VAPING DOES, as although it is only laced with nicotine without the tar, Kpods are only the INITIAL aims of drug lords and their executives in the Trillion dollar enterprise to get Humankind HOOKED to hardcore psychotic drugs in later stages, as found out recently that such Kpods, even so called from established sellers, had induced Epitome, more well known as Fentanyl which mostly came from China, had proven to wreck American lives turning them into addicted zombies than they, an intelligent civilization were destined for.... .

Drug lords, too, play the long game as they have Billion$ to spend for best minds, as they saw how Humankind had mostly gone against their deadly products and the dwindling of their profits - cars, women, luxury homes, vacations, etc, at the expense of misery of and to others.

If vapes can have multi-flavors such as chemically created strawberry or even durian, how MORE easily is it to introduce other chemicals such as hardcore drugs, let alone proven currently used fentanyl, such as heroin, weed, cocaine, etc???? Thailand's dance with cannabis had proven that just a few drops of such even to a Kangkong/Spinach dish can either get one addicted or have hallucinatory and even health harmful side effects....

IN THE END, it is about MODERATION.

Humankind needs to live. We can BAN everything and live life like Buddhist monks, or the much twisted religion of Islam from Arabs which is NOTHING akin to what the good prophet Muhummad had taught, foreswearing everything to achieve Nirvana.

Without bad, none would know what is good. Sadly, it is only thru mistakes that Humanity will learn, and change its ways.

There are chemicals which when taken in moderation does no harm, but only when taken in excess, it not only harms oneself, but loved ones and society as well.

As for WELL KNOWN hardcore chemicals such as fentanyl, heroin, weed, 90% proof alcohol, etc, etc...only morons will want to commit suicide, and worse, misled by profit seeking peddlers and influencers, for their own unnecessary demise.....

What talking you? Vaping is way way way safer in relative to those PCB garbage zhams.

Actually vapes came out in 2004. 2007 ang moh got ppl using already.

Then in Sinkieland as early as 2010 got ppl using. If deadly these ppl are already dead.

mRNA came out 1 month pap says safe and effective liao. Sinkies still dun wake up all will be up lorry by pap.

Pap themselves messed up by banning. If the chose regulation and sold only nicotine ones to adults. Then there will be no black market ones then start lacing with funny stuffs. If regulated adults that wanna stop smoking will buy legal and black market cannot profits selling to a few kids. They will not smuggle anymore.

Do you see cigarettes lacing with funny stuffs because everyone would go provision shops and buy legal.

PAP painted themselves into a corner on this one.
First they jumped on the bandwagon and ostracised smoking. This was before vape came on the scene.
It was politically fashionable to appear taking up the fight against smoking and all those arguments and measures like raising the price of cigarettes to $13 from $5. We all know PAP is only about money and that increase was calibrated nicely so they gained millions or maybe billions in revenue while the raise did not even dent the sale of cigarettes.
Anyway it has been at that price ever since, allowing for inflation, it's now about $15. The promises of gradual increase was soon forgotten.
Then came vape. And when it came it was a cottage industry. PAP nor any jurisdiction in the world could control it. Translated, PAP couldn't make money from it. It also took consumers away from cigarettes and consequently, their revenue.
So what did they do? They banned vaping. But vapes couldn't go away peacefully. They couldn't police it without significant resources. After all it really wasn't a social problem and they recognized that it helped tobacco addiction than their taxing it ever could.
So smart brains had to come out with something. Just like they allowed drugs into the Malay community in late 60s, early 70s that destroyed and forever hobbled the community, they did the same with vape. They allowed drugs being laced into vape and watched it grow into a social problem. Now that it is, resources are being put it to fight it legistively, and actual action on the ground.
All in the name of protecting their cigarette revenue. And they will not increase it to the point that people quit, because that will kill their golden goose.
Australia has effectively killed smoking because the raised the pack of cigarettes to $60 and allowed vaping discreetly. No social problems encountered.
Bottom line is, PAP is a dishonest govt. It's not about your health or social good.
It's about their money racket. The biggest irony of all? They're now addicted to that money.
Mark my words. An addict will never wean himself from his addiction.

Raising the price of one product to earn national revenue is the dumbest economic policy ever, because Humans will quit buying that product and national revenue will fall to nothing earned, as happened in Australia which has the most expensive cigarettes in the World, sold after its tax on tobacco.

The high costs of cigarettes are not for earning national revenue, but a means to help Humans kick off nicotine habits, especially our young, that they may not fall into such health concerning habits unlike their forefathers whom developed such habits when cigarettes where cheaply sold and even supported.

Kpods and vaping are another issue. It is on the rise, suspected to come from Fentanyl producers in China to dump its stocks of Fentanyl into Asia, which is why vapes are found laced with Fentanyl/Etomidate which are opioids.

It is only a matter of time when psychoactive drug producers and manufacturers from Mexico, Columbia, etc, latin american states, state to muscle into China's Fentanyl territories in Asia and World....

.

Failure of govt that can't control the misuse of scrupulous makers & just know how to jail the weak.

The problem is pap cannot be so strict on this. If they do it so hard now and in the future more and more countries allowed it. They will have no face to backtrack. Plus pap is so focus on tourist money. Cannot be controlling tourists like you are their parents. F1 is coming soon I wanna see how they enforced it. Actually taylor swift also got use vape why they never kicked her out of sinkapore?

I remember back in year 2013-14 pap ban electric car because they could not earn. Now their WEF botak asked them to sell and they behave like an obedient servant.

I believe pap let ppl spike the vapes with drugs and then blow very big via news and social media that even normal nicotine vapes = drugs. It works for majority of the daft sinkies.

Even Sinkieland current low smoking rate of 8% has been masked due to large percentage of the nicotine smokers using vapes. If they go back to cigarettes smokers will go back to 14-15%

Pap has to learn that they cannot lower smoking rates unless you allowed less harmful nicotine products like IQOS if they wanna meaningfully lowered the smoking population. Japan now cigarettes sales dropped by 52% because people switched to IQOS.

Only in Singapore, pap can just push propaganda easily and then make claim that is was for the good of people

Knn mRNA came out one month approved and no risk acessment? Knn if decades down the road effects come and 90% took mRNA how? Pap will compensate them?

Nah. Even if their revenue was hit, it would be miniscule. The fact that later, they had to come out with a new rule, that all cigarettes will be a non coloured, only black, no graphics and hidden away behind counters indicated revenue stream was still safe.
Australia on the other hand, made it an objective to kill off tobacco smoking, regardless of the hit to revenue. They have an honest govt.
In Singapore the people have short political memory. It's such a shame.

One aspect not given much thought is the fact that smoking tobacco is worse off now, for the individual, than before the artificial price rise.
Before, $5 would get you higher quality controlled cigarettes of international standing.
But since prices went up, lower quality cigarettes came flooding into the market with dubious and dangerous chemicals spiked in it.
So there goes the effort to make the people healthier because now they're smoking worse cigarettes than before.

The problem is smoking will harm others around. Knn sinkies everyday kpkb of neighbors smoking around their home affecting them. Then now support pap catch vapes. Then these smokers will go back to smoking then thes neighbour will smell smoke again.

No Aussie also hiked cigarettes until 60 dollars a pack of 25 sticks. But they also have contraband cigarettes and vapes but they dun catch like pap.

Don't you see is the same modus operandi the mafia uses.
Contraband in Singapore is hit hard, policed like a hawk because you are eating into their revenue. It's not about the people's health anymore.
It's akin to the drug trade. Try muscling in on somebody else's turf and you see your family taken care of.
Australia doesn't care about the money. They care about the people.
