WIth respect, I believe that the law and the Court were unduly strict, with the significant fine imposed on the hardworking maid, and the "employer."
I submit that the prosecution is also not compassionate, when it submitted its suggested amount of the fine.
Based on the reported amount paid by the "employer" to the maid who worked three to four hours, about three to four times a month, cleaning and performing household tasks, it seems fair, and reflected a foreign worker or domestic helper's motivation to work harder and earn extra money for her and / or for her family.
In such circumstances, the fine suggested by the posecution, and imposed by the Court, erased almost the entire amount earned by the "guilty" hardworking maid. I submit that whoever reported this matter to the authorities, the prosecution, and the Court, are not compassionate, and probably do not understand the challenging life of individuals who are not financially wealthy. Does the prosecution and the member of the judiciary come from a secular upbringing?

Likely work in non registered address.
Helper can only work in registered address.

It was reported in the media, that the maid worked at another "employer", or at two other "employers", instead of the only "authorized employer"

I presumed is maid work as part timer for another family on off day. It is illegal.

Mom is very on pertaining to FDW welfare.
I just keep leeceiving emails from mom warning and leeminding me this and that.

Mom need to wayang and show that they are protecting the migrant worker to the home providing the worker.

We tell them not to work during their off days. We mandated off days ... See .. We set laws , it's for the good of the worker so that they don't get exploited.

many have been working as “mistresses for money” to banglas on sundays, and some say weekdays too (when master and missus not home).

Baaed on the information on the internet, maids or domestic helpers are paid about $600 to $800 a month, but most of them have to work 8 to 12 hours a day, and do not get at least one day off a week.

Does the individual who reported this matter to the authorities feel good or gained anything?
Did the authorities or the prosecution consider or reconsider the facts and circumstances of one Mr. Liew Mun Leong who asked or Mr. Liew's son who asked Mr. Liew's domestic helper, to do some household tasks at the residence of Mr. Liew's son?
Did the prosecution and the AG Chambers apply the same principles for this case re justice must be done and seen to be done?

Yes. If it is purely for a single leegistered employer, I do not think that mom can have any control over whether the maid has off or no off.
My maid officially has 2 off days in our agreement. But most of the time, she doesn't get her off due to her job leequirement.
I will por her with salary in lieu of the offs.
But any time of the month, when time allows, I will also let her go off a few hrs, she will need some free time to do her stuff mah.
Then I also cannot leeduct her salary for this kind of offs.

It is those that send the maid to work in another household. Some of the employers I saw in hospital wards, they can send their maid rotating to their other familee members one. It is bad and Illeegal.

Maids should only be fucked by Bangla boyfriends (note plural), go to church or play with TikTok on their off days.

all these little non issues are to distract us from the real issues like.......

why no public audit of the personal wealth of office bearers like ministers and mps
why no public audit of holdings of temasek and cpf
why no public audit of the fucking numbers of cecas and fts numbers flooding into the country
why no public debate on why kept building and building without concern for overcrowding in this 290 sq miles of peesai

FUCK PAP

Hospital ward is allowed. Because maid is hired primarily as caregiver so if elderly parents got admitted it ok for maid to tag along to help. But certainly not for maid to work elsewhere on off day. Same as maid is helping employers with their stall or shop. It is not allowed

what about the maids the ho brought to a basement in oxley not registered in her name to declutter, clear and clean? will that be a violation of the law?
