It is made in PRC (GuangDong).

I am testing it. Quite Nice. GDM. Fast to download. Works perfectly for Chinese Language. Thunderbird + Firefox + Open Office 3.1 + MSN + QQ + Flash + DVD burning + P2P(BT) + remote desktop + Wine (runs MS programs)

;)

So far not bad.

Have not touched Linux for a very long time, in fact given away all my Linux books, still have many of the Linux installation discs from way back & evern paid copies of Caldera Open Linux I think up to ver 3.0

Why would we want to emulate MS Xp??? I thought Linux have KDE? whiich is quite a good desktop..now there must be an improved version...

Yes, I use KDE also, there are so many window managers in Linux, KDE is used more frequently. They are developing fast and well.;)

Caldera came from Red Hat and then became SCO & then became dead in 2002.:(

That was that long ago I used LINUX...redhat..etc

That was the era when I began with Linux. It was Red Hat 6.

They had drastically changed and developed since.

The one thing MS can never compare with Linux is in the level and speed of developments. More than 100X difference. Because of Open Source, there are so many million people involved in development, from many organizations including governments; universities; corporations and non-profits. The dispersed and broad-based efforts come to a huge amount of man power and resources that MS can not beat.

Don't think I am older then you, but I played with Slackware when I first tried Linux, oh the frustrations!

I was born in 1961 ;)

It was hard during earlier days, but these days Linux develops very rapidly and improved at light-speed. During old days, I was only On-&-Off using them just for learning, I hit too many snags, got bogged down.

Later I got a job that required me to use Unix actually SGI's Irix at that time I had to go through the harder learnings, and I think I won't have gotten that job if I didn't know any Linux. After Unix, I got back to Linux, knowing full well how much more powerful and reliable they are than silly hopeless MS.:(

Linux with X is very friendly. I had setup for friends and their kids immediately started to use Internet & games without any experience nor teaching. They had no idea that it wasn't MS. The OS don't seem to be causing any differences to them. They started to play games that I had not even seen for myself, asking no question at all - while I was talking to their parents.:p

UNCLE!!!

people already moved to Windows 7....you are still stuck with XP?

ALL MS are craps.

XP look n feel is only for those too frightened by the different look of Linux GUI.

I can tell you that Vista is worst than XP and W7 is same. MS is only making regression by each version released. The only MS Windoze version that was not that bad were the NT4 & W2000, those were before MS put in too much of shit.

Vista & W7 are shit full-tank & 3/4 tanks respectively, XP is half tank! :p

Any way the recommendation is to UPGRADE TO LINUX and to abandon MS. For the very purposes that still must rely on MS, use virtualized MS that are snapshot protected, and need not have TSR virus scanning. Turn on virtual machines only when using the few MS applications.

The look & feel for XP look alike is only a psychological user friendliness or familiarity factor. Nothing more than that. It is Linux and not MS, that is what matters most. :-)
