India, Singapore ministers discuss deeper tie-ups in digitalisation, skills, industrial parks. It seems that the PAP has still not learned from the economic genocide that it has inflicted on S'porean PMEs after signing CECA. Now they are determined to make new mistakes on top of repeating old ones. Our overrated, overhyped and overpaid Ministers keep shooting true blue S'poreans in the foot.

CECA has caused many S'porean PMEs to lose their livelihood to an influx of professionals from India. There is definitely increased competition for white collar jobs and lay-offs of locals whoa re subsequently replaced by Indian nationals. Many IT and financial services companies have a hiring bias towards foreign nationals. This is sometimes disguised as "intra-corporate transfers". The PAP has turned a blind eye to such practices to date.

The SG govt has implemented policies like the Fair Consideration Framework, but it appears ineffective. Many employers exploit loopholes or engage in discriminatory practices that favour foreign talent over equally or more qualified S'poreans. This leads to a sense of an uneven playing field. Any govt that allows this is committing treason!

The clauses in CECA related to the Movement of Natural Persons seems to be giving Indian PMEs a "free pass" to work in SG. While the govt has stated that this does not grant unconditional entry for Indian professionals to work here, S'poreans remain skeptical. There is a belief that the agreement's provisions have made it easier for foreign nationals to enter and work. This saturates the job market and exerts downward pressure on local salaries.
