Parents want to give their children the best shot in life, but when do we ease our expectations?

Parents only want to give their children the best shot in life, but when do we ease the pressure and expectations? My parents provided the necessary guidance, push and paid tutors to help me in my weaker subjects. I graduated from NUS and am now drawing a comfortable salary and enjoy a lifestyle that I could only dream of if my parents did not push me to be the best version of myself. I applied the same lessons to my adult children when they were in school, but how far do we pressure them is still a mystery. There is no one size fits all solution.

Condoms, a vasectomy or a woman-free life would have prevented this.

If you ask me: today's youths are exposed to the Internet and the toxic social media environment at too early an age. They based their identity and validation on that. Of course they would turn into mentally fragile snowflakes. They also start believing in bullshit like 'genderfluid' or 'neurodiverse'.

If you fail to recognize what Singapore will look like for your children and grandchildren, then you've failed as a parent.
That failure will determine how you guide your children to navigate their lives.
If you fail to recognize that Singapore will be a shithole of forever competition aka The Hunger Games, never getting rich, never owning anything, then you've failed.
If by now you have not made ways and plans for you children to exit, then you will have a difficult life, either dependency on your kids who will already be struggling, or you will be spending your retirement money on their struggling and dependency.
Too late now.

In red dot your children can have a easy life when they come from a wealthy family or they are selected to be a PAP MP. Or else they have to slog like a foot soldier all their life (yes study hard and work hard) but eventually u realise u are just a salaryman who could not keep up with ever increasing high costs of living .

The only “best shot” was the one the father shoot into the mother cb….

humans all over the world are the same, some good some bad.....if you earned enough during working life to retire in peesai i suggest you get the fuck out of here and maybe spend 3mths here and there to appreciate the lands and culture of other countries instead of this 290 sq miles shithole that is forever under 'construction' fucking mess the pap had made it into

Red dot is a "WIP" country.

Are you so incompetent that you need to misrepresent and distort my argument to make it easier to attack? You are putting words into my mouth to create a straw man argument i.e. you create a weaker version of my argument and then proceed to refute that instead of the actual argument. This tactic avoids addressing the real issues and misrepresents my position.

A PME couple who are university graduates will spend their entire life in S'pore living in a HDB flat and never earning enough to own a car, unless they have wealthy parents who are willing to help them, or provide them with a generous inheritance.
