You must understand the bumi equity thing and affirmative action are not part of special privileges stated in the Constitution. So I dunno what anwar defending. All I know Anwar sidelined those who voted for him and appease those that rejected him. Next election, lose for sure.
That was imposed by Tun razak after consultation with local businesses in 1970. After Tun razak and dr m manufactured a race riot in 1969 to topple tengku abdul Rahman. Force his resignation. Even the road jalan Tuanku abdul Rahman was not after him but after first Agung with almost same name. If this is true, it was at a time when unemployment was high in S'pore. LKY was preventing further job losses due to cheaper foreign labour. The opposite is happening now under the PAP, with local unemployment and underemployment getting higher with 650,000 CECAs and many other foreigners of various nationalities working in PME jobs here.
