The greed of the promoter TEG Sport and funders of this S'pore Festival of Football 2025 resulted in the embarrassing attendance for a weekday pre-season friendly game. The organiser could have priced tickets at far more reasonable rates to fill the venue.

FANS have been left baffled as Arsenal play AC Milan in a near-empty stadium in pre-season.
The Gunners are currently travelling through Asia as part of the tour ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Arsenal will face Newcastle and Tottenham during the trip, but their first match was against Italian giants AC Milan.
Mikel Arteta's side faced with the Rossoneri at the Singapore National Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
Many were expecting the match to be played in front of a sell-out crowd, but the reality was much different.
The stadium appeared to be half empty as the match took place with loads of empty seats visable around the pitch.
Fans took to social media completely baffled, with some suggesting that the game was being played behind closed doors.
One posted: "Is it a behind-closed-doors game? Why is nobody in the stands?"
A second wrote: "Arsenal Vs Milan is practically empty."
A third joked: "I knew Arsenal weren’t a big club, but I didn’t realise they were this small? Look how empty the stadium is."

Arteta also gave a first start to new signing Christian Norgaard, who lined up alongside the likes of Declan Rice and Ethan Nwaneri from the off.

I remembered back in the day watching Liverpool and ManU play sg national teams.
The attendance was about the same maybe even less as only fans of the club would be interested.
But here both are top tier team in this instance. I would think they have a bigger fan base or even the neutrals would be attracted.

The promoters don't believe in dynamic pricing. This is the result of socialism.
Anyway it is helluva privilege to watch Arsenal and Milan in 50% spacious stadium for as low as S$108.

The new National Stadium is terrible for football games. The acoustics (atmosphere) is terrible. It is only good for concerts and mass religious events... which make you question the purpose of already having the Indoor Stadium. 
And it is also terrible for the NDP, that's why the NDP is being held at the Padang while the Marina Bay floating platform is undergoing renovation now.

Also, the actual fans of teams in major tournaments have to arrange transport and lodgings near the stadium where the game is played. This can be a hassle at times e.g. in the Europa league some away games are played in countries far away e.g. Greece, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey etc.
Not many people care about pre-season friendlies. For the football clubs, it's just a cash grab ('connect with overseas fans'), a fitness training session, and a final assessment of who to sell/loan before the transfer window closes.
