The escalating property and car prices are because of too many people chasing after far too few of these prized possessions. S'pore is not designed to house 6 million residents. Lower the population to 3.5 million with only 500K of genuine foreign talent, and we will see the prices of both homes and cars go spiralling down. It is ridiculous to have 650K CECAs in such a small country. The problem of runaway inflation is of the PAP's own making.Stop importing so many foreigners and demand will lessen. In fact foreigners who bid for COE should be made to pay 3x COE amount.
A ballot system penalises S'poreans who have cracked the code on how to make money. It is against the spirit of meritocracy where the intelligent are rewarded by their hard work and ingenuity, though many merely inherit their parents' wealth.Lansai lah KNN this coe thing is a simple thing made complicated by the greedy pap and the tam jiak ter nao sinkies.
1. Pap has to be honest and acknowledged that the coe they implemented is for them to huats.
Or else
2. They could simply come out with a ballot system if the genuine intention is to limit cars on the small island.
3. Tam jiak ter nao sinkies has to use their ter nao to think, why should pap brings down the cost of ownership to suit their needs? They think for themselves without thinking about others? If pap were to do that, everyone also would want to own a car mah. Stupid.
Then why BTO flats are being balloted?A ballot system penalises S'poreans who have cracked the code on how to make money. It is against the spirit of meritocracy where the intelligent are rewarded by their hard work and ingenuity, though many merely inherit their parents' wealth.
Build-To-Order flats are subsidised public housing for the lower SES. Car ownership in S'pore is not for the masses. Then why BTO flats are being balloted?

LKY introduced money politics into the PAP. From 1955 to 1973, the PM's salary was $3,500 per month. A significant salary revision in 1973 increased the PM's pay rise to $9,500 monthly, and other ministers' salaries from $4,500 to $7,000. In 2016 values, these amounts were equivalent to approximately $27,742 (annual $360,646, including 13th month) and $20,441 (annual $265,733, including 13th month) respectively. Then PM LKY justified the increases by emphasising the need to attract qualified individuals to govt service, stating that ministerial salaries needed to be competitive with private sector earnings. He was greedy to the extreme. The root cause of all these unhappiness? Lee Kuan Yew. Fuck him. May he enjoy the heat!
Cities from London to Copenhagen and Tokyo have implemented policies to promote walking, cycling and public transport. However, none of these places have the sweltering hot and humid weather that S'poreans have to put up with.Car-lite society and COE are nothing more than hipster woke ideas copied directly from USA Democrats, including electric vehicles
