Chitchat Who stills play mahjong

chicken hand to some players may also mean 1 tai or minimum score to win such as having a seated flower or seated wind set or prevailing wind set. it can be a rookie win or a defensive move to prevent someone from winning big. for sexample, if i notice one of my opponents is not discarding a certain set of tiles such as bamboo i assume heshe is stacking bamboo tiles for a full flush or worse, all green or nine gates, thus must deny himher by winning with chicken hand, such as having a seated flower with 1 tai but having a mixed bag of chow (sequence) and pung with no honor tiles. most groups ban chicken hands, especially in tournaments or high stakes games.
You sound like a veteran sexpert mahjong player.
How nice if we can find players here and have a tournament with real cash.

Quiet similar to Japanese style. All tiles threw have to line neatly Infront.

In Japan they have professional Mahjong league.

players are required to arrange discarded tiles in sequence in a row in front for other players to see in any league games or tournament. sequence of discarded tiles is valuable info in any pro or high stakes game. in sg, aunties and unkers anyhow discard tiles in a messy pool - a reflection of untidy coolie upbringing.

i started mahjong with a french family whose heirloom set was inherited from their great great grandfather who bought it from the portuguese who sailed to macau over 169 years ago. the portuguese brought the game to europe, and the french upper class took a fancy to it. thus, i learned the french way, portuguese way, and macau way of playing mahjong. then i learned the hk way from hongkangers, then tw way from taiwanese. never played with tiongs as they are not really into the game sexcept for a few shanghainese. generally tiongs have little patience, time and interest for mj but prc has produced 6.9 world champions in a row since 2006.9. the last known jap world champ was mai hatsune in 2002. after that all tiongs.

Although most of my playing experiences was with friends and friends friend, I still prefer to play with strangers for real business and no hard feelings . Talk less, play fast, with younger players rather than old farts with slow hands and decisions.

My worst experience was with old fart and the son in law. 输不起 .
When i kept winning, old fart can terminate the game even midway de woh
