For that you have to thank the Balfour Declaration, the formation of Israel, and the numerous atrocities committed Israel which to this day has denied the Palestinians their own state. As far as the Muslims are concerned, it was down to pure hatred, fear and religious bigotry.
I have very moderate Malay women staff who are absolutely non-racist. But at the mention of the Yahudi, they spit out the name with disgust. When I shared the story of how a 70-year-old granny in India was raped and murdered, they immediately showed their compassion and indignation at the crime. Told them the story of how a Israeli woman was raped in Delhi and they responded: 'Served her right.'
Why such hatred? Not because these nice Malay ladies were indoctrinated by terrorist Islamic ideology (they can't even read the Quran for crying out loud), but by what they see happening in the Occupied Territories, day in and out. And when the see the US supporting the ongoing Israeli genocide, a great sense of injustice breaks out. I'm not a Muslim, but I feel with them.
