Potato_Wedges :

Saw many wearing such attire to eat lunch.
Shouldn't it be disallowed due to hygiene???
I am gg to text my friend OYK to send a directive to all hospitals abt attire.
Some even wear a stethoscope to hv a meal.

(another EMDWer doctor?)

Anyway uniform U posted is medical student from NUS.

Medical drs got few variants of blue scrubs...U must see the stitched lettering a and logos from which cluster and from which organisation

Example:
NUHS logo and words on right chest then left side shoulder sleeve with Alexandra Health, NUH, NTFGH etc etc.

Or students......

Like

NUS logo on chest with YLL school of medicine

Or

NTU logo on chest with LKC school of medicine (burgundy colour)

Or

Other hospitals also different scrubs like singhealth clusters though same dark blue but tone may vary.

Even full drs also got different tier, residents ,MO, consultant to senior and some is scrub top with civilian bottom, other full scrubs, all depends on where they work on that day, inpatient or outpatient clinic or between wards.

They can wear the scrub la as long as they exercise good infection ctrl and not working in places of infectious diseases (would have don PPE the)

Else the whole hospital from security guard to cleaners to admin counter staffs and all clinicians got to change out to civilian just for lunch (1hr lunch)

Doesn't make sense to change and the plus point, it keeps staff ready to sprojg into action after lunch, or as a matter of fact ready to help others in distress

or TS prefer all healthcare workers in civilian and pretend not to see someone fainting or requiring medical attention?

As for stethoscope, very fragile, U put somewhere easy to get lost of taken. And they are usually need to be mobile and ready to go diff location at diff timing hence need stethoscope. Unless they are fixed at a clinic so got place to put their personal equipment.

Else most you see are probably medical students or new doctors on the busy schedule -ward rounds

Oh the standard way is hand around the neck actually, put in pants pocket may damage the thin layer diaphragm

Most doctors in the public and many in the private sector have to or prefer to wear scrubs these days. Their stethoscopes are part of their equipment, and should not be left at their workstation when they go for meals. Do not expect to leave your personal belongings unattended in a shared workspace, and take for granted that it will still be there an hour later.

Same la many SAF pilots also like to go everywhere in their flight overalls. You wjll across if you around those airbases
I have seen public hospital nurses walk to the food court with stethoscopes around their necks as well; it is part of their equipment.

They wear them to public places with their gadgets and easily can recognized, any emergency they can quickly attend to them well equipped

It is a common sight to have lawyers in full suit at eateries and malls near the state courts. Should they be expected to remove their coats when they leave the courthouse?

Shows the considerate side of these doctors…in case while they eating at hawker centre some old low ses farts might need medical attention and they are ready 100%.

With a clear minded comment.
The thing is it has to be consistent.
If the rule is need to wear, then every loctor will need to wear.
If the rule is doesn't need to wear, why should they wear?
The only answer we will get is becos they want to show off.
Becos if they say they want to standby to save anyone, I will ask them, then go home time or anywhere you go anytime you should wear also.
You cannot say, sometime I feel like saving people, sometimes I doesn't feel like, correct?

This is the sort of thing I advocate here to use our clear mind to assess situations . It is a very useful way to know who is lying and who is not in everything we do and encounter.
When is due, beat them flat to puppies.

You are clearly confused, and unable to distinguish between a doctor on duty, on his break and off duty. If he is at his lunch break, but still at the hospital, he has to be prepared to cover an emergency. Once he is off duty, he has co-workers who are at work. Now do you understand, or are you in cognitive decline?

Meal time is not on duty
Also their duty is binded to the hospital. Not in food courts.
If they want to pull along with duty in food courts, they should be consistent to prowl the food courts whenever they have the time.
Be clear minded.

You conveniently omitted to mention that I stated that these doctors are still at their workplace.
You are muddle-headed with the early onset of dementia.
They have to be consistent.
Then every loctor MUST put it on during their meal time.
Be clear minded
You are not clear minded at all.

Without being clear minded , we will get a different answer.
You think they are doing their duty.
But when some put on while some not, it points to a different answer I.e those that put is want to show off.

You are clearly in mental decline when you did not even notice that minded is not spelt like the above.
As I mentioned earlier.
They cannot say
Oh sometimes I want to save people while sometime I doesn't feel like it.

Be clear minded about this.

This is like claiming that doctors who wear scrubs are prepared to get their hands dirty, while those who wear a shirt and pants are less committed to their patients. You need to acknowledge that you are no longer lucid. In fact, you remind me of an ex-colleague who started spewing nonsense after his stroke.
