Preferably a scalable one so that if the need arises I can connect a few more in the house and use the same app to monitor.

can check it out at blink link. this one has speaker unit that can be enabled. to operate it with audio, it’s all in the settings. there’s a more sexpensive model that can zoom in and out.

Don't get the Mi one.

They let you use then you update update update until 1 version become subscription else you cannot access the recordings. Lucky I manage to reinstall and now don't update anymore.

i have them indoors pointing out from the windows. when installed indoors they don’t get weatherized and worn out from dust, wind, rain, sun, bird shit. they emit blue, green, red led lights depending on operation. cheap. can install a dozen of them. moreover, when powered with cable, don’t need to recharge batteries at all. when overseas for months, they work flawlessly with power on always. only time there’s a glitch is when there’s a power blackout. wifi goes down too. after power is restored, they will automatically come back on including wifi connection. very reliable so far.
