Even when I send my car for servicing, I tend to work remotely from my laptop at the service centre over the 3-5 hours. As such, I haven't taken the MRT or a bus for over 2 decades.

Aircon cools indoor spaces, but the process of cooling air transfers heat from inside to outside. AC units release this hot air directly into the outdoor environment, contributing to the heat. In a densely populated city like S'pore, where AC usage is widespread and often continuous owing to the tropical climate, this waste heat significantly increases the UHI effect. The hotter SG gets, the more AC is used, leading to even more heat released outdoors.
