Workers' Party did well in terms of overall popular vote (head to head contest with PAP). PAP is marginally behind WP for overall popular vote share

Overall in terms of popular vote between WP and PAP, PAP did not make any significant gains against WP from GE2020, despite using their full arsenal of tricks and negative politics, for example:

1. Relying on a massive influx of new citizens for its vote share
2. Gerrymandering in election boundaries
3. Persecution of Pritam in Parliament and courts
4. RIsking a so called DPM in Punggol
5. Character assassination of Andre Low during GE20GE2025

Last but not least, WP own self pwned ownself - Leon/NIcole affair and Raeesah Khan scandal.

Overall, PAP only managed a 0.3% increase in vote share against WP in 2025 (compared to GE2020)

The landslide victory that the mass media talks about is because of PAP extremely high significant gains against all other political parties (except the WP).

Good job Workers' Party!

Looking forward to 2030 GE.

Leon & Nicole sex affair just like Tan Chuan Jin & Cheng Li Hui sex affair doesn't seem to affect either PAP or WP popular vote.

Pritam should be happy with the results.

Though WP didnt make any MP seats gain, (only 2x NCMP seats gained), WP did not capitulate under immense PAP pressure the last 5 years and during this GE.

Wp defended its strongholds of Hougang SMC, Aljunied GR and Sengkang GRC with stronger popular vote shares.

I am not sure how WP managed to maintain its overall popular share. It could be a better capture of Malay votes via Tampines GRC and East Coast GRC this time round compared to 2020? Did Gaza issue play a part? No idea as there isn't any data to come to this conclusion.

If say all things equal, (is. Gaza issue did not increase WP share of Malay votes), then it seems that new citizens effect doesn't seem to be significant against WP. I mean new citizens are scattered everywhere around Singapore, though may say Punggol has a lot. But then again, how did WP managed to increase Sengkang and Hougang vote share if factored in this new citizens impact on voting?

Well done to the 34.43% who voted the WP & other opposition parties
If let's say there aren't any opposition except WP. PAP walk over all these uncontested wards on Nomination Day, Lawrence wouldn't dare to claim he has strong mandate as these uncontested wards will not be in popular vote statistics. It would look damn bad on PAP and him. Isn't it?

So, surely PAP loves all these mosquito parties to contest. It helped PAP to increase overall vote share. The more mosquito parties contesting in non WP interested wards with PAP, the better the overall popular vote share results for PAP.

And if not for WP healthy popular vote share, and let's say all opposition are mosquito parties contesting in GE (and WP is also another mosquito party), then i wouldn't be surprised that PAP can garner like easily 80% of total vote share in any GE.

Statistics can be skewered into many ways & many interpretations, using bits & pieces to show a PARTICULAR angle or twist it to fool the uninitiated or naive as facts, but are only HALF truths mixed with lies & opinions, just as mathematical probabilities which at least AI tries to avoid, to allow the prompter to decide.

ULTIMATELY, what truly matters in our PROVEN Democratic process is the one who passes the post first, chosen by educated FULL FLEDGED CITIZENS, new or old, to lead a constituency & Nation to fulfill our sacred National Pledge & Rule of Law Constitution, to progress & evolve....

I think it's good that many mosquito parties lost their deposit this GE and hopefully fuck off from contesting ever again. Otherwise, PAP overall popular vote share will always be sustained by these bloody mosquitoes.

Yes if with only 26 seats contested by the WP

PAP won 87 seats with 49.96% of the popular votes if that is the scenario

I believe that all the opposition parties, except the Workers Party, should consider retiring, or may be a few of their members join the WP, after their deregistration.
Let the PAP win about 30 per cent of the seats via walkover.
I believe that the PAP lacked morals and integrity, when they amended the Constitution with their superiority, without calling for a national referendum.
Same for several other amendments, such as elected Presudent and reserved presidential elections.
Halimah Y qualified simply because she was the former speaker, because I believe that she does not have any experience similar to any CEO of a major corporation.
In addition, several others may alleged that I may be racist, but regardless of an individual's observance of his or her religion, Singapore claimed to be a secular state, and therefore, Singapore should not project to the world that Singapore has a President who wears a headscarf.
If Halimah qualified as a Presidential candidate, every Singaporean lawyer would qualify.
With respect, she did nothing special that you and I could not do.

If you want to constructively comment on this topic, don't write long grandmother motherhood statements as it adds no value to any discussion :cautious: :FU:

After watching this Business Times YouTube video (post mortem by Pritam and Q&A with journalists), Pritam actually sounded quite pleased with the results. Of course he defintely wished it could have been better if they had grabbed another GRC, but I think in his heart, he surely is pleased by a good result in this GE.
