The problem with SG gahmen is that they think only scholars can be ministers…something that goes back to feudal China times.

Every minister or army general has been through scholarship programmes….all theory based and tested in a written exam to be awarded a certificate.

There is another scholarship which need no studying or following a strict curriculum…it is called the university of Life.

Street smart and relating to everyday matters exceeds text book regurgitation.

It's also the Confucian brainwashing which makes them believe in the 'mandate of heaven'. The ruler must always be respected and treated with reverence. Loyalty to your ruler is non-negotiable.

SINGAPORE - Great care was taken in implementing the goods and services tax (GST) hike so that Singaporeans who are less well off pay less than the 9 per cent rate, said Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

He said on April 28 that the Government explained in Parliament “with data and the facts” why additional revenues were needed to take care of the rising number of seniors, and how support was enhanced in tandem to keep the system fair and progressive.
