The argument that PAP always says that Singapore will collapse is a blatant lie and scare tactic.
Politicians are generally just a mouth piece to claim credit for themselves so that they can be elected in the next GE.

In a way I am glad Tharman smartly moved himself away from the fray to do his specialized finance work.
Tharman would have added rigor to Pappies processes had he became PM and the shady elements in PAP are afraid of that. He must have knew, they know, and so he stepped aside
