The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) said on Friday (14 February) that Singapore's economy grew 4.4% in 2024 – its fastest pace since 2021 and surpassing both the government’s 4% advance estimate and economists’ forecast.

Singapore's economy grew 5.0% in the fourth quarter of 2024 from a year earlier which was higher than an official advance estimate of 4.3% released last month.

MTI says the gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast for 2025 remains at between 1% and 3%.

“Uncertainties in the global economy remain significant, with the risks tilted to the downside,” MTI said in a statement. “The manufacturing and trade-related services sectors in Singapore are expected to continue to expand in 2025, although their pace of growth is likely to moderate from 2024 levels.”
