Why must pay extra for same haircut before CNY? Their rent go up, hairdresser salary increased or they too lan must work ?

i go to the nearby haircut place in the hdb heartland near my place still $8 to cut my hair. 2 months ago, it was only $6. but ok lah, $8 is still cheaper than those QB type shops in malls which nowadays charge at least $14 for a simple men's haircut...

Which place? Some HDB like Woodlands, those Malay HDB barber charge $30 for haircut book online one long before Covid

I usually have a haircut in late December in order to avoid this CNY surcharge, so my next trim will only be in February.

Still cheaper than what women spend at hair salons. Even Pinoy maids, who don't earn much, spend a chunk of their money to do their hair and nails every Sunday.

If you really want to save money, do a buzz cut in November or December then DIY trim a few weeks before CNY. Best is if you shave botak, no more shedding of hair, no more need to comb or style. If your facial features are good, you still look great botak.

my regular chiobu hairdresser imposed a 20% surcharge which iz fine wif me.

I go to QB cos my usual hairdresser is there. She has been cutting my hair for the past 12 years. And I will go to whichever outlet she's at.
