A stigma truly exists against graduates from most Australian universities

This is the type of mindset that need to be revamped…. A degree do not means anything, in today contact - a degree is just a door opener to certain jobs.
Of cos there are ppls with the Dino mindsets that NUS or NTU are the best… but again - have their consider that NUS have the most peeing tom? NTU is 2nd class due to cannot enter NUS….

Ppls need to stop this type of association that leads to elitism.

The truth is many institutes of higher learning in developed countries are in financial trouble. They are often dogged by mismanagement of funds, and if they are private schools, many find their enrolment falling because of diaspora, shrinking population and budget cuts. And if you are a liberal arts college, things will get even worse because you don’t qualify for STEM rankings, a traditionally science domain where the big money (read Pharma dollar) is. Many of the lower ranked universities in the UK for instance are now exporting their programmes overseas to places like SG where english is a first language but pose a low entry barrier to foreign students from China, Asean countries and India. Many PRCs have sent their kids to Sinkielan as a stepping stone, to learn english before spring boarding to Europe and trump land. The UK colleges had tried to do the same in HK but failed. Aussies tried doing the same in SG but also failed. Now all going en masse to Vietnam and Malaysia

Education is a businessman. The more students admitted the more money it makes.

Used to have a few good ones... NSW, mel,...but now admit no discretion so now all eroded.

Many gen Z realise that knowledge can be obtained online. No need to waste time in universities.
It's just like in the good old days when education ends at the age is 15 but people end up getting skills at the place of work and getting paid for it. So in theory, they end up more wealthy.

The issue is singkies shun trade/technical skills and prefer knowledge obtained via 'mugging' ...and singkie economy puts down trade skills.. so as a result ..no one to do the trades...in ang mor lands..trade skills earn better pay than uni knowledge...because they are marketable skills....which hdb don't need electricians, plumbers etc?

In australia electricians and plumbers are paid bloody well, but here in SG is another story altogether....
Most 3rd world countries see the trades as low crass jobs..and singkiesland puts the trades jobs down to increase the profits of companies. And the demand for white collar jobs is declining
