The old cocks here should remember this series from the early 80s - Shogun Samurai starring Sonny Chiba as 柳生十兵卫

There is a TV serial show "The Samurai " ,the hero is Shintaro and his friend Tombei.
 
I was a little kid when i watched this japanese show.
It still better then our local period drama with Xiangyun , huang wenyong and also chinese variety show.
 
There was another Samurai series called 大内密探. Forgotten the English name.
 
This Jap police series, Bark at the Sun, was also one of my favourites at that time.

 
I learned my first jap words from Richard Chamberlian

“Wakarimasu” “Wakarimasen” and “Wakarimaska”

in shogun’s samurai, he depicting yagyu jube was cut in one eye by a sword. in yagyu conspiracy his eye was struck by an arrow. in samurai reincarnation he was accidentally injured in his eye by his father in a sword practice. yagyu jube was a real person in jp feudal history.
