She made a smart move. If she continues as a corporate worker, her lifespan in the job will only last till maybe in her 40s or 50s if she doesn't get married. The company will probably retrench her and get younger cheaper FTs to replace her. If you are a guy, it's even harder to get a similar job with similar pay when you hit 40s or 50s after retrenchment. Most ended up driving a cab or security guard or cleaner.

If her shop doesn't close down, she can sell until she hits 70s if she wants to continue working.
