to make it safer for cyclists, city roads must be re-designed and re-done from scratch. never expect motorists to be on a constant lookout for cyclists if the roads are not purposefully and thoughtfully segregated between wheels of different speeds, weight, and riders and or drivers with various levels of bodily protection. sg is still far behind sillycon valley in this aspect.
