Is Jeffrey Keng smart or dumb to tailgate a heavy vehicle on expressway while on a racer bicycle?

Its more for aerodynsmics as truck pushes out air an create a slip stream. Hence most top cyclist normally ride behind their team colleagues who do all the hard work so that the sprinter can finish the job at the end.
same thing with F1 cars wrt overtaking. Get really close to car in front before overtaking.

when truck brakes hard and fast can test his helmet to see how his skull can hold.

The idea is to save energy. But he is not racing but training. When training, you need to train under more extreme conditions than the actual racing. So riding behind a truck is a waste of time.

Maybe it's less tiring and safer if he grabs onto the back of the large vehicle, no need to pedal and if the large vehicle stops suddenly, you do not need to brake.

plus the constant diesel sexhaust he’s breathing in.

some tdf wannabe cyclists have iq of 69.

Sooner or later his luck will run out. The truck may e-brake for whatever reason.

some do it to register top tdf cruising speeds so as to show off to other sinkie cyclists that they are “elite”.
