China is still a socialist economy. After reform, the Chinese can make obscene profits but must pay hefty taxes to help reduce poverty.
FBB made her fortune mainly from China's movie market.
If FBB had paid her taxes, there would still be enough to live a rich life back home or overseas, like Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Chow Yuen Fatt and Andy Lau.
 
I always remembered her as acting as a minor role in my fair princess drama. But surprisingly aft tat she become so popular.
