China's covid zero policy )(CZP) is good for southeast Asia. Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam benefited from a lot of factory orders due to shutdown in China.
I thought that the CZP was a by-product of internal political struggles. However, a senior family friend explained to me that US's population is about 1/4 of china's and US covid deaths is about one million. Assuming China opens up like Taiwan and have the same death-rates, 4 million will die and over a hundred million will hospitalized; their healthcare and society will collapse. Nobody will pay debts, rentals or buy cars.
There will be widespread hoarding (remember chinese hoarding the iodine salts during Fukushima meltdown) and everyone will be looting, stealing and robbing, and then, triggers irreversible disruptions to their manufacturing and financial sector.
