Why is Singapore warmer in the south than in the north?

Sentosa is hitting 30C now, while Pulau Tekong in the north is at 25'C.

Why?

the edges of an island experiences higher temperatures for sure, our northern border is too close to Malaysia, this said effect is less pronounced in our northern sector- hence cooler.
