NATO is indeed ball-less. I think if today any of the Baltic states will be attacked, I doubt NATO will impose a no-fly zone because they fear of Bloodymir Putin pressing the N button.

The problem with a lot of these European nations is they are treating national security as if they are entering a commercial contract like signing a 2 year mobile data deal with Singtel. Many of them pay little attention to managing their security either in the form of military, economic or foreign policy, they just want to free ride by signing up for NATO and then expect US to do everything if something happens.
Both the politicians and the masses of these European nations are dreaming. Commercially if the sums are big enough, even companies will engage lawyers or file for all sorts of restructuring protection to get out of their contractual obligations, why they think the US is going to commit treasure and life for them no matter what just based on a piece of signed paper is beyond me.
