According to a Chinese newspaper report, the pair of twins were special needs kids who were diagnosed with autism and hyperactivity disorder. Very tragic case. :frown:
 

Father arrested after twin boys found dead in Upper Bukit Timah canal, to be charged with murder​

 
SINGAPORE - The police have arrested a 48-year-old man for his suspected involvement in the death of his two 11-year-old sons, they said in a statement on Saturday (Jan 22) night.

On Friday (Jan 21), at about 6.25pm, the police received a call for assistance by the man at a playground along Greenridge Crescent.

When police officers arrived at the scene, the man's two 11-year-old sons were found lying motionless in the vicinity of the playground and were pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.
 
The police have arrested a 48-year-old man for his suspected involvement in the death of his two 11-year-old sons.






He will be charged in court on Jan. 24 with murder under Section 302(1) of the Penal Code 1871.

The offence of murder carries the death penalty.

SINGAPORE: A 48-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in the death of his two 11-year-old sons, the police said in a news release late on Saturday (Jan 22).


The police received a call for assistance by the man at a playground along Greenridge Crescent at 6.25pm on Friday.

“When police officers arrived at the scene, the man's two 11-year-old sons were found lying motionless in the vicinity of the playground and were pronounced dead at scene by a paramedic,” they said.


The police added that they followed up on “all possible leads” and conducted investigations, which eventually led to the arrest of the man.


The man will be charged in court on Jan 24 with murder. The offence of murder carries the death penalty.


Investigations are ongoing, said the police.

Taking care of special needs kids is not cheap. He probably did his calculations and made a decision. :unsure:
 
Another sad sad story. Just can't imagine the stress of raising a pair of autistic boys in Sinkapore.

That's true, it's a lifetime commitment... Cos for severe autism n hyper disorder they have to be constantly monitored.. Looking after 1 is already tough enough not to mention 2..
Probably the father thought that this is a win win situation for all....
