Altogether now!!! HUAT AH!!!

Fried rice is underated. Any kampung fried rice on their menu. With sambal belachan?

Bank loans or some sugar daddy/mummy is backing them.

Everything at the Chinatown Food Street screams 'tourist trap' to me. But I'm sure part and parcel of tourism is to fleece daft tourists.

very likely will run out steam before long. The quality and hype is not easy to sustain. Expect many wannabes along the way. Ding tai Feng has deep pockets and established equity they will last.

Many years ago I use to visit the hawker area opposite Alexandra Hospital.
I think it be at Bukit Merah Lane.
They have a nice seafood stall that have good Fried Rice on banana leaf.
I am not sure whether the hawker centre still around. :)
