The commentators at Channel 5 were defending Joseph Schooling with ridiculous excuses.
"He has not swum 100 freestyle competitively for a long time."
"This 100m freestyle will be a good warm-up for his 100m butterfly defence."
If you are going to compete in any event, what more the Olympics, you jolly well put in some competitive swims before the event.
