Are you a FT? "Sometimes my laptop computer spoilt" is not how most Singaporean will describe their problems. In any case, I don't know why your computer screen is spoilt. Better to call a hardware guy or an engineer to remedy your problem. Good luck...

Our ability to completely eliminate fluorescent lamps in all of our displays depends on how fast the LCD industry can transition to LED backlighting for larger displays.

Apple plans to reduce and eventually eliminate the use of mercury by transitioning to LED backlighting for all displays when technically and economically feasible.

not sure about other brands though...

wah just imagine if your big screen 42 inch LCD burnt..

I visited my friend house
he took out a apple imac (we were both imac fans, we were graphic designers)

and to his horror
the LCD screen was spolit
and has a bad sour smell

my friend immediately said will let his children use it in future

I was concern about his children
will his children get the poison after inhaling the bad sour smell

now I know the fumes could contain arscenic
