So many failure on so many levels.

LTA failed to install bollards that will prevent these sorts of accidents.

PAP failed to allow these PRCs drivers to go home and they will find creative ways to vent their anger. For now, no dead Singaporeans, but that will be coming soon.
This is an example of how crazy they can be

Yes this is shocking. Normally LTA doesn't save this kind of money when installing traffic safety barriers. Unluckily no one became pancake

A double decker bus would have been more fun.

Maybe a flash mob of obese people can arrange to board a double decker bus at the same time, and all of them sit on one side on the upper deck.

Choose a bus which has a route with many bends.

It is incredibly fortunate that there were no serious injuries given that all the passengers were in the bus that flipped.
Let Dot guess: the other bus was driven by a foreign talent?

SINGAPORE - Two buses were involved in an accident at Bukit Batok Bus Interchange on Sunday afternoon (July 11), leaving one on its side.
The buses, both of which were plying the feeder service route 945, are operated by Tower Transit.
A spokesman for the operator told The Straits Times that 16 people were involved in the accident - two drivers and 14 passengers.
All 14 passengers were on the bus that flipped. The other bus was not carrying any passengers when the accident occurred at about 5pm.
The spokesman could not confirm the extent of injuries suffered by those involved, although Bukit Batok MP Murali Pillai posted on Facebook that five people had "more serious injuries".
"None suffered life threatening injuries," he said.

Those that needed treatment were taken to hospital.
The accident is believed to have occurred when one bus - the one without passengers - was making a U-turn within the interchange. It collided with the second bus, which was making its way into the interchange.
As a result of the collision, the second bus smashed through a low fence and landed on its side, on a ramp that serves as an entry and exit point for other buses.

After the accident, all bus services at the interchange, which is usually served by two wings, were shifted to one wing, as the bus that flipped blocked the entrance to the other.
When ST got to the scene at about 6.30pm, bus services were running normally, with marshals deployed by Tower Transit calling out the numbers of bus services, and directing passengers to the correct area to hop onto the buses.

Some curious onlookers remained at the scene of the accident, where one bus was seen with its windscreen smashed, and the other still on its side.
Police officers were on scene for crowd control, blocking access to those trying to get a better view of the wreckage.
Prior to the arrival of the police, photos circulating on social media showed a crowd on a bridge overlooking the ramp where the bus was lying on its side.

SINGAPORE — Fourteen persons were conveyed to hospital after an accident involving a collision between two buses at Bukit Batok bus interchange on Sunday (11 July).

In a post on its Facebook page on Sunday night, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said its personnel assessed 17 persons for injuries. Eight were conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, four to National University Hospital, two to Tan Tock Seng Hospital while the remaining three had minor injuries and refused conveyance to the hospital.

SCDF said it received a call for help at the location at 5.05pm. “Upon SCDF’s arrival, a passenger bus was found lying on its side. Eight persons were inside the bus while another nine were found outside the bus.”

SCDF rescuers entered via the rear windscreen of the bus which had shattered. They created an additional point of entry at the front of the bus by using an electrical saw to cut through the front windscreen. Once inside, rescue equipment were used to cut several poles off so as to create space for the casualties to be rescued safely.

Of the persons inside the bus, two were carried off the bus on stretchers by the rescuers while the remaining six were guided on foot out to safety.

In a separate post on Facebook, Bukit Batok Member of Parliament Murali Pillai said there was a collision at the bus interchange between two buses. “One bus was pulling into the interchange whereas the other bus was pulling out. The impact caused one of the buses to mount a kerb and fall to its side,” he added.

Murali thanked the SCDF for its swift action and said the matter will be investigated by the authorities.

This would never have happened if they were all riding bicycles. Such big heavy unreliable motorised objects should never mingle with human life.
